Former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, has accused party chieftain Bode George of being responsible for the PDP’s repeated failures in the state.
In an interview with News Central on Wednesday, Jandor alleged that the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) member has consistently worked against the party’s candidates instead of supporting them. He insisted that for the PDP to stand a chance of winning Lagos, Bode George must be expelled.
“If the PDP at the national level wants Lagos PDP to do better or even attempt to win the state, Chief Bode George should be expelled,” Jandor said.
He pointed to a pattern of internal sabotage, claiming that past PDP governorship candidates, including Jimi Agbaje, Musiliu Obanikoro, and Funso Williams, had all faced similar opposition from Bode George.
“Look at the history, Jimi Agbaje, Obanikoro, Funso Williams, and myself, we can’t all be bad. There is clearly a problem with his character. You don’t just grow old and suddenly become irresponsible; it’s a reflection of background and personality,” he added.
Allegations of Repeated Election Disruptions
Jandor further alleged that Bode George has a history of frustrating the efforts of loyal PDP members in Lagos.
“We have dedicated members in Lagos who are truly committed to the party,” he stated. “But every election cycle, this individual disrupts the process. No matter who wins the ticket, he finds a way to undermine them.”
Calls for Party Unity Amid Internal Crisis
He emphasized that as a BoT member, Bode George should act as the party’s conscience and support the chosen candidate. Instead, he accused him of working against the PDP’s interests, making it difficult for the party to gain ground in Lagos.
Jandor’s remarks have intensified internal debates within the PDP, raising fresh concerns about party unity and its chances in future elections.
