Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of failing to uphold its constitution and taking actions that undermine internal discipline.

Jandor, the PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate in Lagos State who recently left the party, alleged that certain party leaders actively sabotaged his electoral chances. Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, he criticized the national leadership for ignoring anti-party activities and instead rewarding an alleged saboteur with a leadership role.

“We waited patiently for two years to see if the national leadership, governed by the party’s constitution, would take action against those engaged in anti-party activities,” he said. “Instead, one of them was appointed Vice Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee.”

Jandor Eyes 2027, Rules Out Tinubu’s Influence

Addressing speculation about his political future, Jandor made it clear that he does not need the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu to achieve his ambition of becoming Lagos State governor in 2027.

“I don’t belong to Tinubu’s party. Only God determines leadership,” he said, adding that he is open to joining any viable political platform to realize his goal.

Jandor hinted at a possible coalition, stating, “APC is one of 17 parties left. Labour Party is also an option. A coalition is coming in Nigeria.”

He also confirmed that he has not met with Tinubu since leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022 and has no plans to seek the ruling party’s approval for his political aspirations.

“No, we are not in the same party. I don’t have to consult with them,” he asserted.

Jandor’s remarks highlight ongoing rifts within the PDP and set the stage for a heated political battle in Lagos ahead of 2027.
