President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as an extraordinary statesman whose influence has significantly shaped Nigeria’s political landscape.

“Providence has consistently placed General Obasanjo at the forefront during critical moments in Nigeria’s history,” Tinubu noted, recalling his role in accepting the Biafran surrender in 1970 and overseeing Nigeria’s transition to democracy in 1979.
