Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Ph.D., GCFR, was honored on his 88th birthday with a Global Breakfast Prayer Session on March 1, 2025. The event, led by Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, Otun-Asiwaju Onigbagbo of Remoland, brought together Christian leaders, dignitaries, and well-wishers from around the world.
A Global Gathering of Faith
The 61st edition of the prayer breakfast had participants from 29 countries joining virtually and in person. It was facilitated by Bishop T. Akin-Akinsanya, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) South-West Zone, and moderated by Rev. Engr. A. Ojeshina. The event featured prayers, scripture readings, and worship led by renowned clerics and the Gatekeepers Worship Team.

Aare Emmanuelking Reflects on Obasanjo’s Influence
Aare Adetola Emmanuelking shared a personal story of how Chief Obasanjo’s book of prayers became a source of strength for him during a difficult time. He praised Obasanjo’s resilience, dedication to service, and unwavering energy.
“Even at 88, Baba is more energetic than many younger people. His life teaches us that longevity comes from purpose, hard work, and faith,” Emmanuelking said.
A Vision for the Future
Encouraging Obasanjo to continue his spiritual impact, Aare Adetola urged him to release 32 more editions of his prayer book, emphasizing his lasting influence on faith and leadership.

The event ended with a toast and prayers for Chief Obasanjo’s continued health, wisdom, and strength. It was a heartfelt celebration of a man whose leadership continues to inspire Nigeria and the world.
