President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14 as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration is expected to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together party leaders and other stakeholders to coordinate the president’s re-election campaign.
Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, who serves as Director-General of the campaign council, disclosed the plan on Friday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

Yari told State House correspondents that the president had approved the proposed campaign timetable, with the first rally scheduled to hold in Kaduna State on October 24.
According to the timetable, the campaign will subsequently move to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, as the APC begins its planned nationwide mobilisation ahead of the presidential election.
Tinubu Campaign Targets 40 Million Women’s Votes
Ahead of the campaign council’s inauguration, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Dr Betta Edu, the council’s Director of Women Mobilisation, have reportedly commenced efforts to mobilise women across the country in support of the president’s re-election bid.
Edu and her team have set a target of securing 40 million women’s votes for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket through a nationwide engagement strategy.
The proposed mobilisation drive is expected to cover 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The initiative will focus on grassroots outreach, community networks and communicating the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 to women and other eligible voters.
The campaign’s success will depend partly on its ability to build support at the community level and convince voters of the administration’s policies and achievements.
APC Begins Preparations for 2027 Election
The planned inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council is expected to formalise the structure responsible for coordinating the APC’s activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The council is expected to play a central role in organising rallies, coordinating party stakeholders and driving voter mobilisation across the country.
The planned Kaduna rally on October 24 is expected to mark the beginning of Tinubu’s nationwide re-election campaign, followed by engagements in other parts of the country.
The APC’s proposed campaign timetable comes as political parties and their leaders begin preparations for the next general elections.
However, the announced dates remain subject to the implementation of the campaign timetable, with the October 14 inauguration and subsequent rallies yet to take place.
