Governor Soludo Named ‘Governor of the Year 2024’ for Urban Renewal, Earns National Praise

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has been honored as the ‘Governor of the Year 2024 (Urban Renewal)’ at the prestigious Independent Awards 2024, held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos. The award recognizes his bold infrastructural reforms and transformative leadership in reshaping Anambra into a modern, economically vibrant state.

Receiving the award on the governor’s behalf, Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim reaffirmed Soludo’s commitment to sustainable urban development. He noted that the award validates the administration’s progressive policies, which have positioned Anambra as a model for urban renewal in Nigeria.

Road Infrastructure – Dualization of major roads in Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi.

Urban Renewal – Modernized markets and upgraded public facilities to attract investors.

Security – Strengthened local vigilante networks and introduced tech-driven security systems, making Anambra one of the safest states in the South-East.
