President Bola Tinubu has landed in Katsina State to attend the burial ceremonies of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He touched down at the Katsina airport at approximately 1:50 p.m. aboard the presidential jet, NAF 001. The First Lady, Remi Tinubu, had arrived earlier to join in the solemn proceedings.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by the state governor, Dikko Radda, as they receive the remains of the late Buhari, which are expected to arrive shortly.
It was gathered that Vice President Kashim Shettima was directed by the president to travel to London and bring Buhari’s body back to Nigeria.
The former president passed away on Sunday at The London Clinic at the age of 82.
Numerous dignitaries, including foreign diplomats, ministers, state governors, political figures, and traditional leaders, are already in Katsina to honour the late statesman with their final respects.
