…Wike reaffirms his commitment to women’s empowerment and extends warm wishes on International Women’s Day.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised women for their vital role in shaping families and society, emphasizing that they deserve continuous recognition and celebration.
Appreciation for Women’s Contributions
In a goodwill message marking this year’s International Women’s Day, Wike expressed deep appreciation for the resilience and contributions of women, particularly those in the FCT.
A statement by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, issued from Milan, Italy, reaffirmed Wike’s commitment to ensuring that women receive the recognition and opportunities they deserve.
“Under Wike’s leadership as FCT Minister, women will always be given their rightful place in governance and society,” the statement read.
Women as Pillars of Society
Highlighting the vital role of women as caretakers of both men and children, Wike acknowledged their indispensable contributions to family stability, which, he noted, is the foundation of any thriving society.
He particularly commended the efforts of women leaders within the FCT, including the Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mahmoud Mariya, and the first female Head of Service, Grace Adayilo.
Commitment to Women’s Welfare
“Today is an opportunity to express our gratitude for the impact women make. We remain committed to improving lives, especially for the women who are undeniably the backbone of our homes,” Wike assured.
The Minister further urged women to continue supporting the government, promising more benefits under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
