President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya and Rwanda.
In a statement issued on Friday, Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said the President’s first stop will be France.
Tinubu will then travel to Nairobi to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 and 12. The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
The meeting will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action and reforms to the global financing system.
With the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the summit will bring together leaders to discuss economic transformation, infrastructure, youth empowerment and peace-building.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with African nations and France.
After the Nairobi summit, the President will head to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, scheduled for May 14 and 15.
The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will centre on boosting Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment.
Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the event is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors and policymakers.
At both gatherings, Tinubu is expected to showcase his administration’s economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a top investment destination.
He will also meet with African and global business leaders.
The President will be accompanied by ministers and senior aides, and is expected to return after the Rwanda summit.
