Ahmad Baba, a loyal supporter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has praised the politician as a resilient and visionary leader who remains committed to Nigeria despite enduring multiple political setbacks.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Baba described Atiku as a beacon of hope in a country weighed down by broken promises and political instability.

“Despite electoral defeats, betrayals, and defections, Atiku has stepped forward, not from desperation, but from a deep belief in his capacity to lead Nigeria into a new era of unity, prosperity, and purposeful governance,” Baba said.

According to him, true leadership is defined not by victories but by perseverance. “Leadership is not about how many times you win, but how often you rise, stronger, wiser, and more determined to serve.”

Baba quoted a senior PDP official who described Atiku as the embodiment of resilience. “He doesn’t just believe in Nigeria; he believes in every Nigerian,” the official said.

Highlighting Atiku’s contributions, Baba noted the former Vice President’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s post-military economic transformation. He credited Atiku with spearheading reforms in telecommunications, banking, and infrastructure during his tenure from 1999 to 2007.

“His policies laid the foundation for today’s digital and economic progress, from mobile connectivity to private sector growth,” Baba said.

He also pointed to Atiku’s investment in education, especially the founding of the American University of Nigeria in Yola, as evidence of his commitment to long-term national development.

“In areas plagued by insecurity and unemployment, Atiku chose classrooms over camps, offering hope through opportunity,” he added.

Defections Won’t Deter Atiku’s Resolve

Despite internal party challenges and a wave of defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Baba said Atiku’s resolve remains unshaken.

“Let the defections come. Let the doubters speak. Atiku remains rooted, not in vanity, but in vision. Not in power, but in purpose,” he said.

As Nigeria grapples with economic and security crises, Baba emphasized the urgent need for tested and visionary leadership.

“Atiku is not just a candidate; he is a movement for restoration. He represents a bridge between Nigeria’s struggles and its promise. He is standing for history and for Nigeria.”
