A fresh video has emerged showing Sola Durodola, Special Assistant on Security to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, issuing threats against supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Engr. Kayode Ojo.
In the clip, Durodola, who has previously faced multiple arrests for alleged political violence, openly vowed to deal “ruthlessly” with Ojo’s supporters. He was seen surrounded by armed men believed to be operating under the state-backed Agro-Marshal unit, which he allegedly referred to as a strike force against political opponents.
Durodola also mentioned another aide to Governor Oyebanji, Dele Owoju, describing him as the leader of a squad codenamed “Non-State Actors (NSA)” purportedly set up ahead of the APC governorship primaries.
“If anyone says they are for Kayode Ojo, we will deal with them without mercy,” Durodola declared in the video. “There is no vacancy in Ekiti Government House until 2023, even after 2030—BAO will personally ensure that.”
The video has sparked outrage, with political groups demanding Durodola’s immediate arrest. Critics argue that his remarks expose the individuals behind recent cases of politically motivated violence and attacks on APC members in Ekiti State.
Durodola’s name has long been associated with violence. In 2014, he was linked to the murder of Omolafe Aderiye, a former state chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). Although arrested, he was later discharged in 2018 by Justice Lekan Ogunmoye of the Ekiti State High Court before being appointed as Special Assistant on Internal Security under former Governor Kayode Fayemi.
The latest development has heightened concerns over rising political tensions in Ekiti ahead of the APC primary election.
