Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Thursday toured multiple Area Councils in Abuja ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.
In a statement on his verified X account, Obi said he engaged directly with grassroots communities, emphasizing that leadership is not an abstract idea but is built through presence, commitment, and genuine connection. He added that true leadership must remain accessible and grounded in the realities of the people it serves.
The ex-Anambra governor also reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development across all sectors of society.
“Today, I set out from our office in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) with a clear mission: to engage with the grassroots and communicate our vision of leadership that truly serves the people.
“My first stop was Abaji Area Council, where I campaigned with Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, the ADC chairmanship candidate. I spent an hour walking through the community, listening to residents, understanding their concerns, and sharing our vision.
“Next, I visited Kwali Area Council to support Jeremiah Badoji, the ADC chairmanship candidate, dedicating another hour to meet and listen to the people.
“I then went to Zuba to back Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, the ADC chairmanship candidate for Gwagwalada Area Council, followed by a visit to Deidei Market, where I engaged traders and residents while supporting Dr. Moses Paul, ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC,” he wrote.
