News of the Concerned Christian Youth Forum’s (CCYF) planned peaceful protest in Abuja has gone viral. The demonstration is in response to what the group describes as increasing attacks on the Christian faith and its leaders, allegedly backed by Omoyele Sowore and his associates.
In a statement signed by its convener, James Adama, the forum explained:
“This protest is being organized to address the increasing disrespect and hostility directed toward Christianity and our religious leaders by Sowore and his associates.”
He continued, “It is deeply troubling that Christianity and Christian leaders are being deliberately targeted, our beliefs and traditions are being disrespected, and our faith is being undermined. These actions are reportedly backed by financial support aimed at provoking religious unrest.”
Adama also used the opportunity to draw attention to the rising levels of violence across Nigeria.
“We are calling on the government to urgently address the alarming increase in killings and bloodshed across the country. This senseless violence must come to an end, and the government must take decisive action.”
The CCYF is calling on all Christian youths in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to participate in the peaceful protest, which is scheduled to take place on May 21 at 10:00 AM, concluding by 2:00 PM. The venue is the Unity Fountain, opposite Transcorp Hilton, Maitama, Abuja.
To ensure broad participation, Adama stated that free buses decorated with CCYF banners will be provided from various locations across the city and all six area councils of the FCT.

We urge the government and relevant authorities to listen to the concerns of the CCYF and take concrete steps to address the security challenges facing Christians and other citizens. This is because Christians in their own Nigeria must be FREE from homicide (the act of killing another person, either intentionally or unintentionally. It is a serious crime and can be classified as murder, an intentional killing with malice aforethought; being cloned and clothed as Christian persecution in Nigeria !!!”
