Announcing her induction, the organisers of the awards described Uwadoka as an exceptional industry leader whose contributions extend beyond individual achievements to shape the wider communications profession.
They said her selection followed a careful assessment of her professional accomplishments, leadership, innovation, mentorship, industry influence and contributions to society.
Accepting the award, Victoria said, “I am honoured to receive this induction into the BRANDCOM Awards Hall of Fame, a recognition that celebrates not only professional achievement but also lasting contribution to industry, society and future generations of practitioners. It reinforces my conviction that strategic communication is a leadership function that builds trust, enables sustainable growth and creates enduring value for organisations and communities alike.”
She added that the induction is significant in view of her retirement from Nestlé Nigeria after a distinguished career that built a lasting professional legacy.
Victoria’s career has covered several sectors, including entertainment, beauty and healthcare, information and communications technology, and food and beverages. Her experience across these industries has helped shape her approach to corporate communications as a strategic business function rather than merely a tool for publicity.
Before joining Nestlé Nigeria in December 2016, she served as Marketing Communications Manager for Microsoft West and Central Africa, where she led the company’s communications and marketing agenda across French speaking West and Central African markets.
At Nestlé Nigeria Plc, she led Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability until October 21, 2026. Her responsibilities included aligning corporate reputation, stakeholder relationships and sustainability priorities with the company’s broader business objectives.
Under her leadership, communications served as a bridge between business strategy, public expectations and stakeholder interests. Her work demonstrated the importance of transparency, credible engagement and responsible corporate conduct in building trust and supporting long term organisational growth.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Uwadoka has contributed to the development of professional standards and industry collaboration. She serves as Vice Chair for Africa of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Advertising and Marketing Commission, a position that places her within wider conversations on ethical marketing practices and advertising across the continent.
She also chairs the NECA Committee of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Experts, where she promotes knowledge sharing, professional collaboration and stronger corporate communications practice among industry practitioners.
A notable aspect of her professional journey is her commitment to improving Nigeria’s image and international reputation. Through Pivot Nigeria: Reframing the Lens, an initiative she founded, Uwadoka advocates a more balanced national narrative and encourages perspectives that reflect the country’s broader potential and contributions.
Her influence also extends to mentorship and professional development. Throughout her career, she has supported and inspired emerging communications and public affairs professionals, helping to strengthen the talent pipeline in a field where credibility, strategic thinking and sound judgement are increasingly important.
Her achievements have attracted several industry recognitions, including selection among the Women in Marketing and Communications Africa (WIMCA) Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications, recognition as a PR Power List honouree, and multiple awards for excellence in public relations, corporate reputation and responsible business.
The Brandcom Awards Hall of Fame has previously recognised distinguished industry figures, including Biodun Shobanjo, chairman of Troyka Holdings, who received the honour at its maiden edition in 2019. Uwadoka’s induction places her among professionals whose work has made a significant contribution to the evolution of Nigeria’s marketing and communications landscape.
Her legacy reflects a broader understanding of corporate communications as a leadership discipline that shapes decisions, strengthens stakeholder confidence and supports sustainable development. Through her work across corporate organisations, professional bodies and public interest initiatives, she has helped demonstrate how effective communication can deliver value beyond business performance.
As she concludes her tenure at Nestlé Nigeria, Uwadoka’s induction into the Brandcom Awards Hall of Fame provides recognition of a career built on professional excellence, industry advocacy and purposeful engagement. Her contributions offer an enduring example of how strategic communication can strengthen institutions, develop people and build lasting trust between businesses and society.
