JMG Limited has partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to provide food assistance to more than 400 women and households in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos State, as part of activities marking World Food Day on October 17, 2026.
The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and promoting social welfare beyond its core business of providing electromechanical solutions across Nigeria.
As part of the outreach, JMG executives and staff joined volunteers at the Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s headquarters to package food items for distribution. The team was received by the organisation’s Executive Director, Dr Michael Sunbola, alongside Samita Keshinro, Muame Agbosi and other staff members and volunteers, who also conducted a tour of the facility.

The team later proceeded to Majidun, where the outreach began with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative pledge, reaffirming both organisations’ commitment to tackling hunger and supporting vulnerable households.
Speaking during the event, JMG’s Chief Operating Officer, Christian G. Kozma, highlighted the importance of empowering women and supporting their wellbeing.
“Today, we are supporting communities in Ikorodu as part of the World Food Day celebration, with the goal of reaching more than 400 women. Women are central to every society, from birth through every stage of life, and at JMG, we recognise their importance. Women occupy critical and sensitive positions within our organisation, and this outreach is another way of demonstrating our support for women and their advancement,” Kozma said.
JMG’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, said addressing hunger and other community challenges requires collective responsibility and sustained efforts from individuals and organisations.
“At JMG, we believe in empowerment, care and shared responsibility. It is a source of pride to contribute to putting food on the tables of families who need support. Hunger is real, and every individual and organisation can play a role in reducing it. Together, we can create opportunities and bring relief to families in need,” she said.
The company’s Head of Marketing, Oluwatomi Faniran, stressed the importance of partnerships in delivering meaningful social impact.
“Behind every successful initiative is a shared purpose. Our partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative demonstrates what is possible when organisations come together to address real community needs. Beyond the food distributed today, we are proud to be part of an initiative that delivers relief and strengthens the connection between businesses and the communities they serve,” Faniran said.
The Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s Executive Director, Dr Michael Sunbola, commended JMG for supporting the programme and helping provide essential food supplies to families facing economic difficulties.
“Hundreds of families are receiving food boxes today that can support a family of five. At a time when many struggling families do not know where their next meal will come from, this gesture by JMG brings hope, relief and joy. We appreciate JMG for making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable women and families,” Sunbola said.
A resident of Majidun, Morenike Adigun, also expressed gratitude to both organisations, noting that the food supplies would help ease the financial pressure on families struggling to meet their daily needs.
“I am grateful to JMG and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for remembering women in our community. The food support will go a long way in helping us provide for our families and ease some of the pressure of putting meals on the table. We sincerely appreciate this gesture and hope more initiatives like this will reach families who need them,” she said.
The Baale of Majidun Community, Chief Alex Olusegun Omoyele, equally appreciated JMG and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for extending assistance to residents and helping reduce the burden on local households.
The outreach highlights the role corporate organisations can play in supporting community-led efforts to tackle hunger and improve living conditions. Although long-term development requires sustained collaboration and broader interventions, food assistance programmes provide immediate relief to families while encouraging businesses to contribute to social welfare.
For JMG, the initiative represents a practical demonstration of corporate citizenship, reinforcing the belief that a company’s impact should be measured not only by its commercial achievements but also by its contribution to the wellbeing of the communities it serves.
