Unity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to gender equality with a dynamic International Women’s Day (IWD) webinar aimed at inspiring action and fostering sustainable development.

Unleashing Women’s Potential: Unity Bank’s IWD Webinar

Themed “Unleashing Women’s Potential,” the event was organized by the Unity Bank Women Network and featured an impressive lineup of influential female leaders, including media entrepreneur Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and certified life coach Oluwabusayo Adegoke. Discussions centered on leadership, financial inclusion, and overcoming challenges in male-dominated industries, offering professionals, entrepreneurs, and young women valuable insights for personal and career growth.

Spotlighting Women Driving Change

As part of its IWD 2025 initiatives, Unity Bank also highlighted remarkable women making significant impacts in their communities. Honorees included:

Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin – Championing technology empowerment for girls.

Tejumoluwa Olaobaju – Leading the fight against period poverty.

Chioma Ohakwe – Promoting inclusivity through skill acquisition programs for women and girls.

These women exemplify the power of leadership, education, and financial empowerment in transforming communities.

Unity Bank’s Commitment to Gender Equity

Speaking on the Bank’s ongoing efforts, Mrs. Patricia Ahunanya, Unity Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer and Chair of the Women’s Network, emphasized the institution’s dedication to financial inclusion and gender equity.

“Women are key drivers of economic and societal transformation. Through initiatives like this webinar and our continuous support for women-led ventures, Unity Bank remains at the forefront of creating opportunities that empower women across all sectors,” she stated.

Driving Financial Inclusion for Women

Unity Bank’s commitment extends beyond advocacy. The Bank actively promotes financial inclusion through women-focused products such as the Yanga Account, designed to support female entrepreneurs and business owners. These tailored financial solutions aim to equip women with the resources needed to excel in leadership roles, business, and financial ecosystems.

A Call to Action: Building an Inclusive Future

As global conversations on gender equality continue to gain momentum, Unity Bank is urging stakeholders across industries to take concrete steps toward creating a more inclusive society, one where women have equal access to opportunities, growth, and success.

Unity Bank’s initiatives reaffirm its leadership in championing women’s empowerment and underscore the critical role women play in economic growth and societal progress.
