Pearse, a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, noted that the world now follows political developments in Nigeria with keen interest. He warned that manipulation of the electoral process could attract severe international consequences. He added that the era of unchecked result alterations has begun to end.
The PDP chieftain urged Tinubu to prioritise governance and reforms rather than political manoeuvring ahead of 2027. He said any plan to undermine democracy could further isolate Nigeria on the global stage. Pearse also called on INEC to maintain neutrality and resist political pressure.
Pearse pointed to the International Criminal Court as a mechanism to deter electoral misconduct. He expressed confidence that Nigerians would no longer accept vote manipulation in 2027. He encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and hold leaders accountable.
“The whole international world is watching. If you rig election the way you normally rig it before, you may have Trump coming to get you in your chamber. You may disappear over night,” Pearse said during the interview on Arise TV.
He insisted that 2027 would mark a turning point in Nigeria’s elections and asked INEC to protect the credibility of the vote. Pearse maintained that the stability of the country depends on transparent democratic conduct.
