Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso says the NNPP will upend expectations in Kano in 2027. The former NNPP presidential candidate warned opponents to expect a major shock at the polls.

Kwankwaso spoke to supporters at his Miller Road residence in Kano. He said those who call NNPP a weak party ignore real political dynamics.

“A lot of people underrate us because they do not know politics,” Kwankwaso said. “Some even say we are children. We will shock them with the election results.”

The two-term Kano governor urged his base to stay loyal. He asked members to remain focused as the polls draw near.

Meanwhile, Buba Galadima denies claims that Kwankwaso plans to quit NNPP. The party chieftain said the former minister remains the national leader.

Galadima addressed reports about a move to the ADC. He told LEADERSHIP that Kwankwaso has not resigned from NNPP.

“He is still our leader and a full member,” Galadima said. “So he cannot join another party at this time.”

Former kano NNPP chair Hashimu Dungurawa also rejects defection rumours. He described the rift between Governor Abba Yusuf and Kwankwaso as troubling.

Dungurawa alleged that Yusuf betrayed a long trust. He said the bond between the two leaders spans more than four decades.

“He received guidance and support for 43 years,” Dungurawa said. “The leader never complained about him until he became governor.”

The ex-chair blamed opportunists around the governor. He claimed they seek to damage the NNPP structure in Kano.

Dungurawa said he has no regret staying in NNPP. He praised the party for giving him growth and voice.

“I will remain committed to NNPP,” he said. “I pray for our success ahead of 2027.”

Despite the crisis, he insists kwankwaso holds firm influence in Kano. He cited the last NNPP landslide as proof of deep popularity.

“The people of Kano believe in Kwankwaso,” Dungurawa said. “Wherever he goes, they will follow.”

NNPP leaders maintain confidence as 2027 approaches. They say the party will stay united and inclusive.
