Governor Charles Soludo has successfully completed the 2.62 km Bank Road in Nnewi, linking it to St. Mary’s Cathedral Church in Uruagu Nnewi. The project is part of his administration’s broader urban infrastructure development initiative for Anambra State.
Road Revitalization and Enhancements
The once-deplorable road has been revitalized with a complete asphalt overlay. The next phase includes the installation of streetlights for nighttime illumination and road markings to improve traffic flow.

According to a statement from Governor Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the administration’s infrastructure drive marks a new chapter in positioning Anambra as the “Japan of Africa.” This initiative reflects Soludo’s dedication to transforming the state into a hub for business and economic growth.
Transforming Ekwulobia into a Cosmopolitan City
This vision is also reflected in Governor Soludo’s efforts to transform Ekwulobia, one of Anambra State’s key towns, into a cosmopolitan city. Among other developments, the newly constructed flyover has eased traffic congestion, improved connectivity for local businesses, and enhanced the area’s infrastructure with proper illumination.
Key Road Projects and Infrastructure in Ekwulobia
Additional projects in Ekwulobia include key adjoining roads, such as the 2 km Nanka-Ekwulobia-Aguata Council Area Headquarters Road and the 1.125 km Ekwulobia-Isuofia Road, along with various supporting structures and facilities. The area also features a modern bus terminal, fuel station, security office, fire station, and essential external works, including sewage treatment, drainage systems, and landscaping.
Development of an Ultra-Modern Market
The governor is also developing an ultra-modern market to accommodate traders, complete with a motor park, sports and recreational facilities for local and international events, and cultural festivals.
