Ikenga Leaders Celebrate Completion of Key Road Project, Highlighting Economic Growth and Enhanced Connectivity in Aguata LGA

Community leaders in Ikenga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, have commended Governor Charles Soludo for his commitment to infrastructure development, following the completion of a 10.95-kilometer road linking Igboukwu, Ikenga, Ekwulobia, and Ezinifite communities.

The newly constructed road is a key component of Governor Soludo’s broader economic and infrastructural transformation agenda, as outlined in the state’s 2025 budget. Community leaders hailed the project as a major milestone that will enhance mobility, facilitate trade, and improve the standard of living in the area.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Izuchukwu Uzor lauded the governor’s efforts, stating, “Governor Soludo’s solution has reached our community, and this project will bring immense transformation to Aguata Local Government.”

Historically, the Ikenga community had never benefited from a tarred road. However, under Soludo’s leadership and the progressive vision of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the long-awaited infrastructure has become a reality.

Governor Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to road infrastructure, noting that while new projects are being initiated, existing ones are also being completed. So far, approximately 310 kilometers of roads have been asphalted within 30 months, with a focus on durability and quality.

Beyond the Ikenga road, several strategic projects are nearing completion, including the Ekwulobia flyover and bus terminal. Additionally, the dualization of major highways, spanning 34 kilometers from Amawbia through Agulu, Ekwulobia, and Uga to the Imo State border, as well as 36 kilometers from Nwagu Agulu through Nnobi, Nnewi, Ozubulu, and Okija to the Onitsha-Owerri expressway—represents a significant boost to regional connectivity.

The Soludo administration continues to prioritize road development across Anambra’s 21 local government areas, aiming to enhance inter-community access and drive economic growth across the state.
