Nigerian music promoter and socialite, Samson Eletu, widely known as Sam Larry, has resurfaced in public days after surviving a serious road accident that sparked false reports of his death.
A video circulating on social media on Saturday shows the promoter in the company of friends and associates, celebrating and appearing to be in good health. His appearance has reassured many fans who had been worried following the accident.
The clip quickly gained traction online, drawing thousands of reactions from users expressing relief that he is alive and recovering.
The footage comes shortly after unverified reports claimed Sam Larry had died from injuries sustained in a crash. His public appearance appears to have put an end to the speculation surrounding his condition.
Earlier, PUNCH Online reported that one of his associates, Akin Abolade, popularly known as Mr Lilgaga, dismissed the rumours of his death.
Speaking with PUNCH Online after the accident, Lilgaga said, “Yes, he’s alive and not dead. I can’t say much about his condition because the accident was severe. We spoke after the crash, and I can confirm he is alive.”
Sam Larry has remained a controversial figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry since the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, in September 2023.
He faced widespread criticism after videos showing confrontations between him and the late singer surfaced online before Mohbad’s death. The public outcry led to calls for a full investigation, and police later questioned him as part of their inquiry.
While his name featured prominently in discussions surrounding the case, investigators maintained that their findings would be based on available evidence. Sam Larry has consistently denied any role in Mohbad’s death.
