The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, is moving between political platforms in search of an easy and uncontested presidential ticket.

According to Naija News, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the claim in a post on 𝕏 while reacting to Obi’s reported exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obi announced his decision in a statement shared on his 𝕏 handle on Sunday, describing the current political environment as hostile and discouraging. He noted that even within alliances, individuals often face unexpected opposition and criticism.

He maintained that his departure was not due to personal disagreements with party leaders, including David Mark and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The former governor attributed his exit to recurring internal disputes and legal challenges within the party. He compared the situation to issues he previously encountered in the Labour Party, reiterating his belief that leadership is about service and not oppression.

Obi also dismissed claims that his moves were driven by personal ambition.

Responding, Morka described Obi as a “political rolling stone,” alleging that he lacks commitment to building a party structure.

“He prefers a presidential ticket handed to him on a platter,” Morka said, adding that Obi continues to move across parties in search of an unchallenged path to the presidency.

He listed Obi’s political journey as APGA, PDP, LP, ADC, and now NDC, concluding with a remark that portrayed the former governor as a “political drifter.”
