The Nigeria Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) on October 11, 2025, expressed deep concern over a recent publication by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode titled “A WARNING TO SENATOR TED CRUZ AND HIS CABAL OF YANKEE CRUSADERS”, released on his official platform.
As the collective voice of Christian leaders across the nation, the NSCEA described the statement as regrettable, insensitive, and counterproductive, especially at a time when nigerian christians persecution has drawn growing attention from international faith leaders and human rights advocates.
Respect for International Christian Voices
The NSCEA emphasizes that international advocates for religious freedom, such as U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and other faith-based leaders, should never be insulted for highlighting nigerian christians persecution.
Their advocacy is an act of Christian solidarity, rooted in compassion and scripture, not a political intrusion. It is both spiritually wrong and morally indefensible to dismiss such voices as “foreign crusaders” when they are responding to real suffering in Nigeria.
As Isaiah 58:1 reminds us:
“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression.”

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, as a respected Christian statesman, is urged to channel his influence toward unity and constructive engagement. Instead of discrediting international partners, he should work alongside the Church and the global Christian community to address nigerian christians persecution and promote peace.
The NSCEA maintains that Nigerian Christians welcome partnerships with international allies to combat religious extremism and injustice. The Body of Christ transcends nationality, race, and political boundaries.
