Social commentator Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign over Nigeria’s worsening economic situation and escalating insecurity.
In a viral video posted on Instagram, Fayose criticised the president’s leadership, accusing him of failing to address the deteriorating state of the nation. He lamented the rising poverty rate, persistent killings and kidnappings, and what he described as the government’s inability to protect citizens.
Fayose referenced the recent kidnapping of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the killing of their school’s vice principal, questioning how the president could remain “comfortable” in office amid such tragedies.
According to him, the state of the country demands a new generation of leadership.
“President Tinubu, I think it is time for you to resign now. How do you feel comfortable being president over a failed nation, kidnapping, poverty, and genocide everywhere? If you genuinely love Nigeria, it is time for you to resign. You are not capable of ruling this country at this juncture. Poverty and hardship everywhere. I beg you, Tinubu, relax; you have done your bit. Allow the young people to come in and fix this nation,” he said.
Fayose also expressed concern over the continuous deaths of Nigerian soldiers in battles against terrorists and bandits, insisting that the country needs urgent intervention rather than silence from its leaders.
His remarks have stirred strong reactions on social media, with many users echoing his call for change.

As of the time of this report, the Presidency has not issued a response to Fayose’s comments.
