The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced Morocco as the host nation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The announcement follows the conclusion of the 2024 edition, where Nigeria’s Super Falcons emerged victorious, defeating Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses in a thrilling final.

This marks a significant milestone for Morocco, as the North African country will host the Women’s AFCON for the third consecutive time, having previously staged the tournament in 2022 and 2024. The consistent hosting highlights Morocco’s rising influence and growing infrastructure in African women’s football.

CAF also confirmed that the qualifiers for the 2026 WAFCON will kick off before the end of 2025, as national teams across the continent prepare for the road to Morocco.
