The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended a former House of Representatives member, Muhammad Shehu Koko. He represented Koko/Maiyama Federal Constituency. Nine other party officials from Koko Local Government Area were also suspended.
Those affected include Muhammad Danyado, APC Vice Chairman; Biyaminu Muhammad, Secretary; and Talatu Zauro, Women Leader. The list also features the Youth Leader, Financial Secretary, Welfare Secretary, and several others.
Party leaders accused the suspended members of anti-party activities, disloyalty, and harassing executive members. APC Chairman in Koko LGA, Muhammad Maibarga, and the LGA Executive Chairman, Sirajo Usman Koko, signed the suspension letter. Fourteen other stakeholders also endorsed the action.
Close associates of the former lawmaker declined to comment officially. However, they hinted that the suspension might relate to his rumored senatorial ambition. His interest in the Senate race has reportedly unsettled some top APC figures in the state.
Kebbi Govt Releases ₦266 Million for Students in India
The Kebbi State Government has approved and released over ₦266 million for the tuition of 100 students studying in India. The Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Tunga, shared the news at a press conference in Birnin Kebbi. Permanent Secretary Hussaini Tata represented him.
Tunga praised Governor Nasir Idris for supporting education. He called the move a major step toward academic growth in the state.
He stated, “Governor Idris has released ₦266,964,560 for the tuition fees of 100 Kebbi students studying in Indian universities.”
Tunga added that the ministry appreciates the governor’s commitment to academic and moral excellence. He described the funding as a historic investment in the state’s educational development.
