Since the death of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Nigerians, especially those in the South-West, have continued to long for a government founded on the principles of good governance and responsible politics.

Leaders such as the late Pa Adekunle Ajasin, Pa Adebayo Adefarati, and Chief Bola Ige each, in their time, made sincere efforts to walk in Awolowo’s footsteps, upholding his ideals of integrity, social justice, and people-centred leadership.

That tradition of good governance and principled politics re-emerged prominently in Osun State during the eight-year administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, whose leadership echoed the progressive philosophy of Pa Awolowo, governance with vision, courage, and a deep commitment to the welfare of the people.

Today, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola continues to lead from the front, advocating for leaders who embody the timeless leadership qualities of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, regardless of tribe, culture, or background. His message is clear: we must build a nation where opportunity is not inherited, where merit matters, and where the son of a nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody.
