Blessing Agbomhere Esq, South South Zonal Organizing Secretary of the APC, has called for an apology from social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan. Agbomhere condemned Otse’s attack on Senator Godswill Akpabio, who led a five-member Nigerian delegation to Pope Francis’s funeral in the Vatican.

In a viral video, VeryDarkMan described Akpabio’s trip as “shameful.” He argued that the Senate President should have used his time to visit states dealing with insecurity. Agbomhere quickly rejected this claim. He stressed that Akpabio was appointed by President Bola Tinubu to represent Nigeria at the funeral. He also pointed out that the trip was important for Nigeria’s diplomatic standing.

Agbomhere explained that Akpabio is a devout Catholic and a man of integrity. He was trusted by President Tinubu to lead the delegation. According to Agbomhere, Akpabio did not make the trip on his own. Instead, he was nominated by Tinubu because of his suitability to represent Nigeria. Agbomhere also emphasized that the Nigerian delegation was part of a global effort to mourn the Pope’s passing.

“Akpabio’s appointment was based on merit,” Agbomhere said. “President Tinubu recognized his ability to represent Nigeria’s values at such a significant event.” He reminded the public that Christians are called to mourn with the bereaved, and Akpabio fulfilled that role.

Agbomhere Issues One-Week Ultimatum for Apology

Agbomhere has given VeryDarkMan one week to issue a public apology for his slanderous remarks. He stated that any further attacks on the government or its officials would not be tolerated. “Defaming law-abiding citizens and key leaders is unacceptable,” Agbomhere said.

Agbomhere urged Nigerians to ignore VeryDarkMan’s comments. He emphasized that the current administration is actively working to resolve the nation’s security problems. He pointed out that the government inherited many security issues from previous administrations but is taking steps to address them.

The Administration’s Commitment to Security

Agbomhere also highlighted that President Tinubu recently met with Security Chiefs to discuss new strategies to combat insecurity. “President Tinubu is serious about protecting Nigerians,” he said. “His actions demonstrate a commitment to solving the security crisis.”

He concluded by reminding Nigerians that security challenges cannot be solved overnight. “The government is committed to restoring peace and stability. We are determined to deliver results for the people of Nigeria,” Agbomhere added.
