Rite Foods Limited has introduced LIDA Malt Classic, a new non-alcoholic malt beverage, as the Nigerian food and beverage manufacturer expands its product range in the competitive malt drink market.
The product was unveiled to media representatives and content creators during an immersion programme at the company’s manufacturing facility in Ososa, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on October 15, 2026.
Promoted under the slogan “LIDA Malt. Made for You,” the beverage is currently available in its Classic variant and packaged in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.

Speaking at the programme, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, said the launch reflected the company’s approach to product development and its efforts to respond to changing consumer preferences.
He said the new beverage would expand the company’s offerings while maintaining its focus on product quality and locally manufactured goods.
According to Eze, Rite Foods’ existing beverage portfolio includes Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Premium Drinking Water; Sosa Fruit Drink, with five variants; and Fearless Energy Drink.
The company also produces Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex Sausages.
Toyin Nnodi, Head of Marketing at Rite Foods, said the development of LIDA Malt was informed by the company’s understanding of consumer preferences and everyday consumption habits.
She explained that the “Made for You” proposition was intended to position the beverage around consumers’ expectations and the occasions in which they choose malt drinks.
Nnodi added that the introduction of LIDA Malt provides the company with an opportunity to extend its presence into another beverage category.
The Nigerian malt drink market already features established brands, making product differentiation and consumer acceptance important considerations for new entrants.
The media immersion programme also included a tour of the company’s manufacturing facility, where participants received information about its production operations and infrastructure.
Beyond product development, Rite Foods highlighted its approach to energy management and operational efficiency during the visit.
Eze said the company was exploring cleaner and more efficient energy solutions to support manufacturing operations, productivity and business continuity.
According to him, approximately 95 per cent of the company’s energy consumption comes from natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for the remaining five per cent.
The figures were provided by the company during the programme.
Rite Foods also highlighted its Waste-Is-Naira initiative, implemented in partnership with RecyclePoints, which encourages plastic-waste recovery by linking recycling activities with economic value.
The company engages consumers through brand activities, including Bigi’s Soundcity OnTour campus activation and Fearless Energy Drink’s participation in Felabration.
These activities form part of its broader efforts to connect its brands with consumers through entertainment and other engagement platforms.
With the introduction of LIDA Malt Classic, Rite Foods has added another product to its beverage portfolio. Its reception in the market will depend on factors including consumer demand, product availability and its ability to compete with existing malt drink brands.
