Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has praised Anambra State’s First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, for her outstanding efforts in supporting smallholder farmers. Through the Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Programme, Mrs. Soludo has provided 200 farmers with tools, seeds, and training to improve food security and economic stability in the state.
Hands-On Leadership That Inspires
Unlike many, Mrs. Soludo did not just launch the program, she actively participated. She walked the fields with farmers, listened to their concerns, and motivated them to succeed. Senator Tinubu, impressed by her dedication, described her approach as “a masterclass” in leadership while showcasing a video of her work during a meeting with governors’ wives.
Driving Change Beyond Agriculture
Mrs. Soludo, fondly called “Madam Solution” by Anambra residents, is also making a difference beyond farming. Her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative has helped over 100,000 households, while her Green Anambra campaign promotes organic farming and sustainability.
A Voice for Women and Children
Beyond agriculture, Mrs. Soludo is an advocate for maternal and child health, better nutrition, and the fight against human trafficking. She works to improve breastfeeding practices, prevent diseases, and protect vulnerable children, believing that “progress must touch the least, the last, and the lost.”
Inspiring the Next Generation
Her impact extends to young people as well. “When I grow up, I want to be like Aunty Nonye,” said 12-year-old Adaora from Amesi, one of many children inspired by her mentorship programs.
With hands-on leadership and a passion for change, Mrs. Soludo is redefining the role of a First Lady, proving that true empowerment starts at the grassroots level.
