PWAN Group, a prominent Lagos-based real estate company, has come under fire as multiple customers accuse it of failing to allocate lands purchased over ten years ago.
According to reports by TRIXX NG, the allegations surfaced through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) by popular influencer Scot Iguma, where affected customers recounted their experiences.
One customer narrated how she bought a piece of land from PWAN in Asaba in 2021 but has neither received the property nor a refund. She revealed that after several failed attempts to recover her investment, she filed a lawsuit against the company but was allegedly persuaded to withdraw the case with promises of receiving her documents – a promise yet to be fulfilled.
“PWAN has made me lose so many things. I petitioned them and had them arrested last year. They gave me allocation letters twice, but when I asked for the deed and survey plan, they claimed the property had issues. They took me to four different sites without giving me any valid document for any of them.
When I went to court, they asked me to withdraw the case in exchange for my documents. I did, but till now, nothing has been done,” she said.
Another customer shared that his late uncle purchased land from PWAN in 2014 but never received an allocation before passing away in 2019. Despite multiple efforts to claim the land, the family has reportedly received no meaningful response.
“My uncle bought land in 2014. After his death in 2019, we found the documents and contacted PWAN in 2022. They acknowledged the purchase and promised to get back to us, but since then, they have ignored all our messages.”
Additionally, some customers alleged that they were allocated lands later discovered to have been taken over by the government, leaving them stranded with invalid investments.
As of press time, PWAN Group has yet to release an official statement addressing these allegations.
