Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Secondary School (MORCASS) has once again proven its dedication to academic and moral excellence as it celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2025 in a grand ceremony filled with joy, tradition, and inspiration. The event marked a pivotal moment in the lives of the graduates, showcasing the school’s unwavering commitment to nurturing well-rounded leaders of tomorrow.

A Graduation Ceremony Rooted in Faith and Purpose

Held on the school premises and attended by proud parents, dedicated teachers, alumni, and distinguished guests, the 2025 MORCASS graduation ceremony was a powerful blend of spiritual depth, academic recognition, and cultural pride.

Rev. Fr. Harrison Egwunu, the respected Principal of MORCASS, opened the event with a heartfelt address and benediction that resonated deeply with the graduating class.

“You are not merely leaving this school; you are entering a world that desperately needs your values. Go forth with courage, integrity, and faith,” he urged, blessing the students with words of encouragement and spiritual guidance.

Mrs. Ochei, Chairperson of the Parent-Student Association (PSA), congratulated the graduates and their families, commending their hard work and resilience throughout their academic journey.

“The future is in good hands because you, our children, have been equipped for greatness,” she said.

MORCOSA Inducts the Class of 2025

Adding a generational bridge to the event, Mr. Uzum Emmanuel, President of the Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Old Students Association (MORCOSA), welcomed the new graduates into the alumni network.

“You are now stewards of the MORCASS legacy. Wear it with pride, and carry it with honour,” he declared, officially inducting the class into the vibrant MORCOSA community.

Recognizing Academic Excellence and Talent

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the academic award presentation, sponsored by the Resourceful Youth Network Initiative (RYNI). Representing RYNI’s founder and CEO, Dr. Lawson Obazenu, Mr. Uzum Emmanuel presented awards that honored exceptional academic performance.

Best Graduating Student Award: Sakpaide Akpevweoghene, recognized for her academic brilliance and moral integrity.

Best Science Student: Sakpaide Akpevweoghene (SS3).

Best Arts Student: Ughe Esther Oseluesmhen (SS3).

UTME Excellence Award: Seven students who scored 300+ in UTME exams received ₦70,000 cash prizes each, spotlighting MORCASS’s outstanding academic standards.

Dr. Obazenu encouraged the students to see these recognitions as a starting point rather than a finish line.

“These awards are not the end of your journey, but a challenge to rise even higher,” he said in his written message.

A Showcase of Skills and Culture

Beyond academics, the ceremony also celebrated creativity and vocational skills. Graduates dazzled the audience with music, dance, tailoring, makeup artistry, and cultural performances, reflecting MORCASS’s holistic approach to education.

From the cutting of the graduation cake to the presentation of certificates and lively entertainment, the event was a joyful tribute to the Class of 2025’s journey and accomplishments.

MORCASS Graduates: Prepared to Lead the Future

As the ceremony concluded, Rev. Fr. Egwunu offered a final prayer of protection and purpose, blessing the graduates as they stepped boldly into a new chapter of their lives.

“You leave today not just as students, but as leaders and changemakers,” he said.
