Social media personality Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, widely known as Jaruma, has reportedly been taken to the National Hospital in Abuja for medical attention over a breast-related health concern while in police custody.
According to a report by SaharaReporters, a source familiar with the development disclosed on Saturday that the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) handling her case took her to the hospital after her condition reportedly required medical care.
Jaruma has been in police custody since Monday following social media posts concerning an alleged dispute involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and a woman she reportedly described as one of his girlfriends.

The reported hospital visit has raised questions about her health and welfare, particularly as concerns grow over the circumstances surrounding her continued detention.
A source who visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja reportedly said Jaruma was no longer at the facility when they arrived. According to the source, officials disclosed that the IPO had taken her to the hospital shortly before the visit.
The source expressed concern about the situation and called for appropriate intervention to ensure that Jaruma receives the necessary medical attention and that her welfare remains a priority.
Concerns Over Bail Conditions
Jaruma’s reported hospitalisation comes amid controversy surrounding the administrative bail conditions reportedly imposed by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
Documents obtained by SaharaReporters indicated that the police required two sureties before granting her bail. One was expected to be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15, while the other was required to be a business owner with landed property in the Federal Capital Territory.
The reported requirements also included identification documents, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, passport photographs, and relevant employment or business records.
Sources familiar with the case alleged that the conditions had been difficult to satisfy, raising concerns about the possibility of delays in securing her release.
Police Initiate Criminal Proceedings
A two-count charge sheet dated October 23, 2026, reportedly showed that the Inspector-General of Police had initiated criminal proceedings against Jaruma under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, as amended in 2024.
The allegations relate to her purported use of TikTok to transmit messages and videos said to contain abusive content and false allegations concerning Rayan Ghassan Kamal, identified in the report as Seyi Tinubu’s personal assistant.
However, the allegations remain subject to judicial determination and have not been established in court.
The charge sheet, as described in the report, also does not identify Seyi Tinubu as the complainant or establish that he personally directed Jaruma’s arrest or detention.
With the reported hospital visit adding another dimension to the case, attention is now focused on Jaruma’s access to medical care, the status of her bail application, and the next steps in the ongoing police investigation.
