Dr. AbdulAzeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the party’s strong commitment to winning elections as his reason for returning.
Adediran, who left APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election, announced his decision on Monday during a press conference at his Ikeja office. He emphasized that while he had no regrets about his time in the PDP, he now sees APC as the platform best positioned to achieve political success.
Lessons from Political Experience
Reflecting on his political journey, Adediran quoted a Yoruba adage: “If a woman has not tried two husbands, she may not know which one is better.” He explained that his return to APC followed extensive consultations with his family, political allies, elder statesmen, and supporters who share his vision for a greater Lagos.
Commitment to Lagos and National Development
Adediran stressed that his move was not driven by personal ambition but by a desire to contribute meaningfully to Lagos and Nigeria’s development.
“Our return to APC is not a decision made lightly,” he stated. “It is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the progress of Lagos State and the belief that unity among progressives is essential to achieving the collective aspirations of our people.”

He revealed that before making his decision public, he had engaged in discussions with APC leaders at both state and national levels and was warmly received.
“Let me assure Mr. President of our readiness to contribute our experience, vision, and energy to the ongoing work of making Nigeria a land of opportunities, growth, and inclusive development,” he added.
With his return, Adediran is expected to play a significant role in APC’s strategies and governance efforts in Lagos and beyond.
