Global ride-hailing platform, inDrive, has announced a significant reduction in commission rates for its drivers in Abuja, lowering it to just 0.1% during peak hours to boost earnings.

According to the company, this initiative allows drivers to retain nearly all their income during the busiest times of the day, easing the burden of rising living costs. The reduced commission takes immediate effect and applies to key morning and evening rush hours on weekdays, with extended slots on weekends to further enhance driver income.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to put drivers first, this move ensures they keep almost everything they earn when demand is highest,” said Oladimeji Timothy, Country Representative for inDrive Nigeria. “It’s a strategy to empower drivers financially and reaffirm our dedication to fairness.”

inDrive is renowned for its unique peer-to-peer pricing model, which enables drivers and passengers to negotiate and agree on fares before trips commence. This model, combined with the platform’s already low commission rates, provides drivers with greater control over their earnings compared to traditional ride-hailing services.

Oladimeji emphasized that the 0.1% commission rate applies at 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM on weekdays, with additional evening slots available on weekends to maximise flexibility and earning potential for drivers.

This latest initiative further cements inDrive’s reputation as the industry leader with the lowest commission charges, demonstrating its commitment to supporting drivers’ welfare and sustainable livelihoods.
