Nigeria’s leading telecommunications provider, Globacom, has announced a significant reduction in its International Direct Dialing (IDD) rates, offering more affordable call options to over 15 countries.

In a statement issued in Lagos, the company revealed that customers can now enjoy rates as low as ₦30 per minute for international calls, applicable to both new and existing subscribers nationwide. The revised pricing, which took effect on August 10, covers several popular global destinations.

Under the new tariff structure, calls to the United States now cost ₦30 per minute, down from ₦35, while calls to the United Kingdom have dropped from ₦400 to ₦350. Rates to India have also been reduced from ₦45 to ₦40. Other notable adjustments include China (₦75), Saudi Arabia (₦300), and Cameroon (₦700).

Neighbouring African countries also benefited from the review. Calls to Benin Republic now cost ₦650 per minute, Niger Republic ₦750, Ghana ₦500, and Togo ₦650. The rate for calls to the United Arab Emirates has been cut from ₦450 to ₦325. Meanwhile, calls to Germany are ₦550, Côte d’Ivoire ₦700, Libya ₦700, and Malawi ₦1,100, down from ₦1,200.

Globacom described the tariff reduction as part of its commitment to delivering better value and maintaining competitive rates in the market. The company expressed confidence that the adjustment would make Glo the preferred network for affordable international communication.

The telecom operator also disclosed plans to introduce new IDD bundles offering even greater savings for frequent international callers. It encouraged subscribers to take advantage of the revised rates to stay connected with loved ones and business associates worldwide.
