Cubana Chief Priest has condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for arresting billionaire and music executive Emeka Okonkwo, known as E-Money.

EFCC officials arrested E-Money, founder of 5-Star Music, at his Omole residence in Lagos on Monday night, April 25. According to the agency, he allegedly sprayed U.S. dollars at a public event, violating Nigeria’s Foreign Exchange Act.

An EFCC official, who spoke anonymously, said, “We arrested him for naira abuse and defacing foreign currencies. He allegedly sprayed U.S. dollars, which breaches the Foreign Exchange Act. Investigations are ongoing, and we will charge him after the process concludes.”

Cubana Chief Priest reacted strongly on social media. He defended E-Money and questioned both the timing and motive of the arrest.

“This is someone who just hosted a major Easter concert to uplift the Southeast. I knew they’d come for him once they saw his influence,” he wrote.

He accused the authorities of using the arrest to pressure E-Money into submission.
“They want to break him so he’ll support them under duress,” he claimed.

Cubana also suggested the move was part of a broader plan to silence influential voices.
“We don’t die; we multiply. More billionaires are coming. In 2027, we’ll vote for whoever we want. No one will break us,” he added.

Both Cubana Chief Priest and E-Money hail from Nigeria’s Southeast, a region that overwhelmingly supported Labour Party candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.
