AFCON 2025: Primate Ayodele Vindicated, Lookman Didn’t Help Super Eagles

After every Super Eagles match at the ongoing AFCON 2025 until yesterday, Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has always been called names because of his prophecy regarding the team.

He had said that the Super Eagles would not be eliminated in the tournament and mentioned some players who would not perform well as expected. He also had a message for the coach.

According to him, the Nigerian coach has ‘bad luck’ which will affect the Super Eagles. He also stated that Ademola Lookman will not ‘help’ the team and that if all instructions are followed, the team can get to the final in the tournament.

Among these prophecies, Primate Ayodele gets called out for what he said regarding Ademola Lookman because, in previous matches, Lookman either scored or had an assist, but the prophecy is far beyond that. Unfortunately, many Nigerians don’t try to understand prophecies; they read them like story book, and due to that, they either misinterpret or misunderstand them.

To start with, what does it mean to help someone? People only need help when they are stranded; help is only needed when there are no other ways in critical times. If I had no money to buy food and someone suddenly sent me N2,000, I would be very grateful because what that person has done is help me out of my disastrous moment. On another look, if I had all the food in the world, had money in my account, and someone sent me N2,000, I may not even remember to appreciate the person because I didn’t need it. It wouldn’t make any difference if the person sent it or not; I would still be fine. This is exactly what help looks like.

In the case of Ademola Lookman, he truly did well in the past matches, but if he didn’t score in those matches, Nigeria would still be at the stage we are presently. If Lookman wasn’t in our previous matches, we would still win. We scored a lot of goals until yesterday, and if the player’s goals were removed from the tournament, we would still conveniently get to the semi-final stage.

The help Super Eagles needed was during the semi-final match when it actually mattered. Lookman scoring us a winning goal would have meant a lot to Nigerians, he would have been forever cherished if he had ‘helped’ Nigeria because he was actually in the position to do that, but what did we see? Lookman was almost not seen throughout the match, and even made mistakes when he had the opportunity to create goals.

Since the match ended yesterday, the street has been unusually silent because naysayers were unable to drag Primate Ayodele’s name again; they have no doubt been covered by shame because of their earlier backlashes against the prophet.

On his prophecy regarding the coach, it’s very obvious that there’s no luck on the side of Eric Chelle and that pushed him to make mistakes just a few minutes before penalties. Instead of retaining his best players for the penalty shoot-out, he brought in people who destroyed the chances of the country.

No matter what anyone has said or done against Primate Ayodele, some even went as far as placing a curse on the prophet, but now, they have to swallow their words because Primate Ayodele has been vindicated.

Long live the prophet, Selah
