Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Charles Soludo, has commended the governor’s comprehensive strategy in addressing the security challenges facing Anambra State. He emphasized the need for Nigerians to prioritize strategic solutions over temporary fixes, highlighting Soludo’s enduring commitment to long-term peace and safety.
Aburime acknowledged the substantial criticism Governor Soludo received from opposition figures and religious leaders concerning the state’s security issues but noted that Soludo’s response remained focused on systemic solutions. The governor’s holistic approach aims not only to tackle current threats but to address the root causes of criminal activity in the region.
A cornerstone of Soludo’s security initiative, according to Aburime, is the launch of Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Peace Must Reign) and the enhancement of the Agunechemba vigilante group. These steps are integral to the administration’s strategy of dismantling criminal networks and re-establishing order across Anambra.
The Chief Press Secretary also praised Soludo’s investment in modern security technologies, including artificial intelligence-aided surveillance systems and a new fleet of vehicles for the state’s security forces. These tools, Aburime noted, have already proven effective in identifying and apprehending criminals, signaling a significant shift in security operations.
A striking example of the success of these measures was the discovery and demolition of the Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as La Cruise Hotel, in the Oba area. Once thought to be a legitimate establishment, it was uncovered to harbor over 30 partitioned graves and a shrine, underscoring the dark activities concealed within.
Aburime concluded by affirming that Governor Soludo’s strategy, targeting such hidden criminal enterprises, sends a clear and decisive message: Anambra will not offer safe havens for criminal elements.
