A former Kogi State governorship aspirant and women leader, Princess Grace Iye Adejoh, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to step aside from presidential ambition and support the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in presenting Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso as its 2027 presidential ticket.

In a statement issued in Lokoja and made available to journalists, Adejoh said Nigeria is facing severe hunger, rising insecurity, and widespread kidnappings. She noted that citizens are increasingly demanding change, but stressed that only a united opposition can effectively challenge the ruling party.

She commended the recent Supreme Court ruling and called on opposition leaders to quickly close ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adejoh urged Atiku to prioritise national interest over personal ambition.

“Sacrifice is never easy. It comes with pain and difficult choices, but its value outweighs the cost when it serves the greater good,” she said.

She described Atiku as central to a critical political decision that could shape a strong opposition alliance involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso. She questioned whether he would place legacy above ambition or continue pursuing long-held presidential goals.

Nigeria, according to her, is facing public frustration and declining patience due to hardship and insecurity.

She warned that prioritising individual ambition could weaken the opposition and damage the credibility of the ADC.

However, she added that responsibility also lies with other political blocs, including the Obidient movement, to consider compromise for broader political success.

Adejoh argued that a combined force of Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso could form the strongest opposition challenge in 2027, but only if unity is achieved quickly.

She concluded that the opposition must act with urgency and sacrifice to meet the expectations of Nigerians, stressing that history is watching and citizens are waiting for direction.
