Amid ongoing political realignments, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has downplayed concerns over recent defections from the ruling party. He insisted that President Bola Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election in 2027 remain solid despite opposition maneuvers.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Oyintiloye, a former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, dismissed fears that political exits and realignments could derail the President’s second-term bid. He described defections as a routine occurrence in politics, stressing that they posed no real threat.
“It would be a grave mistake for anyone to think that the defection of so-called APC members will affect the President’s chances in 2027,” he said. “Defections happen in every political cycle, but Tinubu’s deep-rooted political structure, experience, and leadership acumen make him unstoppable.”
Tinubu’s Political Strength and Nationwide Support
Oyintiloye emphasized that Tinubu’s long-standing political relationships across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones would continue to work in his favor. He noted that the President’s ability to build strategic alliances and maintain a stronghold in national politics has made him a formidable force.
“Tinubu’s extensive political network and influence across the country give him a unique advantage that no opposition coalition can easily dismantle,” Oyintiloye asserted.
He further highlighted that the President’s governance strategies and policies were already bringing about positive transformations in Nigeria, reinforcing his credibility among citizens.
Tinubu’s Achievements Will Speak for Him
The former lawmaker urged Tinubu to intensify public engagement and awareness campaigns regarding his administration’s achievements and long-term vision. He argued that keeping Nigerians informed about the government’s successes would allow them to assess its performance beyond political propaganda.
“Public enlightenment on the administration’s successes will enable people to make informed decisions,” he said. “Tinubu’s commitment, political sagacity, and influence will ultimately guarantee his victory in 2027.”
Confidence in Tinubu’s Resilience
Oyintiloye expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to overcome any political obstacles, citing his resilience and strategic political maneuvers in past elections.
“As a man of faith and determination, Tinubu has always triumphed over challenges, and 2027 will not be an exception,” he declared.
He maintained that the President’s unwavering focus on national development, coupled with his strong political network, would secure his re-election, despite opposition attempts to dislodge him.
