Mr. Seleem Adegunwa, Managing Director, Rite Foods Limited, mentoring students of the Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) to take advantage of the immense opportunities in the Nigerian ecosystem, during a courtesy visit with his wife (First Right) to NUTM, in Apapa, Lagos, accompanied by top management personnel of the company, on the 7th of May, 2025.

Accompanied by his top management team during a visit to the institution in Apapa, Lagos, on May 7, 2025, the Rite Foods CEO encouraged students to embrace the abundant opportunities in Nigeria, stay focused on their goals, remain courageous and dedicated, and take pride in their Nigerian identity.

A Proudly Nigerian Success Story

The CEO cited Rite Foods as an example of the “Proudly Nigerian” spirit, highlighting how the company grew from modest beginnings into a leading player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, with award-winning brands produced in a world-class facility equipped with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure, all based in Nigeria.

Adegunwa emphasized that the company, known for its exceptional brands in Nigeria’s competitive food and beverage market, entered the industry with groundbreaking innovations rarely seen from indigenous brands. He pointed to the Fearless Energy Drink’s pioneering use of a PET bottle and the inclusion of the Nigerian symbol on Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink packaging, design elements that were later imitated by competitors.

He noted that Nigerians possess the natural ability to thrive in any career or venture they pursue, emphasizing that success demands creativity, perseverance, and strong commitment. Adegunwa urged aspiring entrepreneurs to cultivate resilience and maintain focus, as initial efforts may not always produce immediate results, but with determination and a clear sense of purpose, success is inevitable.

“Keep refining your business ideas until you find the one that works best, one you can bring to life and turn into success. Pursue a course you’re passionate about and strive to excel in it,” said the Rite Foods MD/CEO.

The seasoned entrepreneur encouraged students to sharpen their intellectual abilities, noting that their level of insight greatly influences their outcomes. “Entrepreneurship demands hard work. Focus on what aligns with your passion and natural strengths. Gain practical work experience to understand business operations before starting your own venture,” he advised.

At the end of the session, Dr. Babs Omotowa, Founding President, praised the Rite Foods MD for his impactful speech, stating that it would inspire greater discipline among the students and significantly support their academic and future entrepreneurial endeavors.
