Two claimants have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged involvement of Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in a disputed $2.1 million land transaction in Abuja.
The petitioners, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, are asking the anti-graft agency to investigate allegations of fraud, obtaining money under false pretences, criminal misappropriation and conversion linked to the transaction.
According to reports, the petition seeks an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged payment and the failure to complete the proposed land acquisition.

How the Alleged $2.1m Deal Happened
The petitioners alleged that Jordan promised to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land each in Katampe and Guzape, two locations in Abuja.
According to the petition, the arrangement followed a meeting between Jordan and one of the claimants in London. The parties reportedly developed a relationship before discussions about the proposed land transaction continued in Nigeria.
The claimants alleged that $2.1 million was paid in connection with the arrangement. They further claimed that the money was handed over at a residence in Gwarinpa, Abuja, on September 26, 2025, in the presence of two witnesses.
The petitioners said they submitted supporting materials, including correspondence and WhatsApp exchanges, to the EFCC as part of their request for an investigation.
EFCC Petition and Court Case
Counsel to the claimants, Ibrahim Waru, reportedly said the EFCC had acknowledged receipt of the petition but had yet to take action on it.
He explained that the petition was intended to enable the commission to investigate the alleged criminal aspects of the dispute, which is also the subject of a civil case before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
The claimants are seeking the recovery of the money allegedly paid in connection with the proposed transaction, while also asking the relevant authorities to examine the allegations.
Jordan Wike Denies Allegations
Jordan has disputed the allegations in the ongoing court proceedings.
During his appearance before the FCT High Court, he reportedly presented his American passport in support of his account that he was outside Nigeria during the period the claimants said the money was handed over.
His position contradicts the claimants’ account of the alleged transaction.
The civil case is scheduled to continue on December 1, 2026, according to media reports.
Investigation Remains Key
The petition against Jordan Nyesom-Wike has brought renewed attention to the disputed land transaction and the allegations surrounding it.
However, the claims remain allegations and have not been established as criminal wrongdoing by a court. The EFCC’s investigation, if undertaken, would be expected to examine the evidence presented by the parties and determine whether there are grounds for further action.
The outcome of the ongoing court proceedings and any investigation by the commission will be important in establishing the facts surrounding the disputed $2.1 million transaction.
