The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that 152 people lost their lives across the Gaza Strip in July, making it the deadliest month of 2026 so far.
According to a statement released on Saturday, figures compiled by the ministry’s Health Information Center showed a significant rise in fatalities throughout the month, with deaths recorded across several governorates in the enclave.
The ministry said those killed included 21 children, 14 women and four elderly people. It noted that the casualties highlight the continuing impact of the conflict on civilians, particularly in densely populated residential communities.
Although a ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, 2025, the ministry accused Israel of repeatedly violating the truce. It claimed that 1,222 people have been killed and another 4,053 injured since the agreement took effect.
The ministry added that the cumulative death toll from the war, which began in October 2023, has reached 73,349, while the number of injured has climbed to 174,162.
Beyond the loss of life, the conflict has left widespread destruction across Gaza. The military campaign has reportedly damaged or destroyed about 90 percent of the territory’s civilian infrastructure, with the United Nations estimating that rebuilding the enclave could cost approximately $70 billion.
