The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has passed a vote of confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke amid speculations about his possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At a leadership caucus meeting held on Saturday at the Oke Fia Government House in Osogbo, party leaders pledged their unwavering support for the Governor, declaring their readiness to follow him wherever he decides to go politically.
The caucus affirmed that it fully backs any decision Governor Adeleke makes regarding his political future and urged him to continue consultations with stakeholders at both state and national levels.
The meeting had in attendance representatives of all segments of the party and government, including the National Assembly caucus, State Assembly caucus, State Executive Council, State Executive of the party, Special Advisers’ Forum, elders caucus, and the Osun chapter of ALGON leadership.
In a communiqué issued and signed at the end of the meeting, the PDP leadership resolved to stand by Governor Adeleke in any political move he makes. However, it acknowledged that consultations are still ongoing regarding his next line of action.
