The Abeokuta North Local Government has announced the indefinite suspension of all activities of commercial motorcycle operators’ unions within its jurisdiction, effective immediately.

In a statement issued by Mr. Oluwakayode Ajibola, Head of Media and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, the suspension applies to all unions, including ROMO, ACCOMORAN, and AMORAN.

“The suspension is a necessary measure aimed at maintaining law and order within the local government area,” the statement reads. “Consequently, no tickets are to be sold or collected from any commercial motorcycle operator in Abeokuta North until further notice.”

Mr. Ajibola emphasized that this decision was taken solely by the Abeokuta North Local Government to prevent any potential breakdown of peace and order.
